If you are thinking about a holiday at CanadianFishing.com, you might like to know a
little about the people who own the place.
The camp was established in 1953 by C.A. (Bill) Pellow and his son W.R. (Bill Jr). Hugh bought it in the spring of 1963. Hugh came to Chapleau the first time in 1960 working as a pilot for an air charter services in Northern Ontario.
In the spring of 1963 Hugh was looking for a place on the Chapleau waterfront where he could base a float-plane and run an air service for the summer.
Among the people whom he approached about this was the elder Bill Pellow who said to him,
"no, I have no room for an airplane. But why don't you buy the place? Then you can do whatever you like".
Hugh and Bill agreed on the details with a handshake and Bill honored the agreement even though a couple of days later someone else offered him more money. That was in April 1963. Doris joined Hugh in 1971.

The camp is still incorporated as Pellow's Cottages Ltd., the name that we kept in memory of Bill Pellow.
